Answers:

  1. Converting 24 bit PCM produces a noisy AIFF.
  2. Try to use the check box "Swap bytes". If it doesn't solve your problem, please contact us.

  3. Converting PCM from Emerson mp205 (and probably also from other recording devices) doesn't work.
  4. Emerson mp205 (and probably also other recording devices) uses ADPCM (Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation) and not the uncompressed, linear PCM which is supported by AIFF from PCM. AIFF from PCM doesn't support ADPCM, sorry.

  5. Converting PCM extracted from DVD Audio produces weird sounding AIFF files.
  6. One problem could be the copy protection of DVD Audio. The other possibly problem is that PCM used on DVD Audios is very often not linear, but packed with a loss-less algorithm called MLP. AIFF from PCM cannot deal with such files.
